Abstract

The function of telling stories is an important mean for the conservation and propagation of men’s culture; As well as the stories, tales and ";causos"; constitute an important access tool to the general culture. Before the announcement of the decline of narrative and oral tradition with the advent of writing, this work brings a retrospective of the historical figure of the stories teller’s and its social function and its looks for rescue the oral tradition through the record and analysis of two traditional stories teller’s reports.
