Abstract

Lorde, by João Gilberto Noll, approaches, even if in a symbolical way, the shock between ‘tradition” and “translation”. By creating a character that has left to England in search of a job chance that, since the beginning, proves to be confused and indefinite, Noll creates, once again, a being that seems to be inadequate to the environment in which he lives. This essay investigates the original solution the author gives to the inherent processes of the question of immigration, as well as brings to light the question of identity.
